Yeah, target feeding near the rocks can help. Mine started coming out more once it associated me with food. What are you feeding it?

Mine went nuts for frozen mysis. Now it's like a puppy at feeding time. Maybe try that if you're not already.

Second this. Mine was on pellets at first but switched to frozen and became way more active. Variety's key with these guys.
