african cichlid tank photos
I've recently set up my 182-litre African cichlid tank, which is roughly 48 gallons. It's currently home to a few inhabitants, including a couple of bristlenose plecos, a fluxeon blood peacock cichlid, and two sunnygolds. The tank's decor features slate rocks, and I believe the plant is hornwort.

Planning to add one more sunnygold once I figure out the sex of my current ones, and a few other fish as well.

Cichlids are my absolute favorite, I'm really loving the setup you've got there Reelstar, especially with the mix of species. Wish I could set up another tank, but that's just not feasible for me right now.

I don't think I'll be getting another tank for a while, still have two to set up which will bring my total to four.

That is indeed hornwort. I've found it makes a great floating hiding place for fry, and my mystery snails just can't get enough of it. I recall my old 55-gallon tank, which was also an African Cichlid setup. It was a rescue mission, with eight cichlids given to me. Watching them thrive was a joy, until I had to remove my other fish and the cichlids took over, their fry running rampant. The plastic plants I had at the time were even rooted up and rearranged by these determined fish.

Luckily, I've had a pretty smooth ride with my hornwort and no issues with them taking over the tank with fry.

A picture on the back of the tank would really make it pop. I'd also suggest adding some floating plants, like Water Sprite (Ceratopteris thalictroides or cornuta) - it's a great choice as it can thrive either in the substrate or on the surface.
