discus tank filter media choices

Spray bar's a solid idea. Gonna try that with my setup. Right now it's just a straight pipe and the fish avoid that side of the tank. Maybe that's why they're always hanging out by the heater.

Yep, spray bar or point the output at the glass to break the flow. Discus hate strong currents, they'll hide all day. My tank's got a slow ripple, fish are out and about all the time. Also, ditch the carbon unless you're pulling meds, it's a waste of space.
