building with rocks

Post by flourman »

Everywhere I look, it's all about stacking rocks high in aquariums, but I've noticed something different. The cave dwellers in my tank seem to swim mostly in the lower half. So, is it really necessary to stack rocks high, or can I use a more laid-back approach like Fluxx?

It provides hiding spots and territory for the less dominant ones, makes the lower caves more desirable.

It creates a sense of security and territory for the less dominant fish, with the lower areas being more sought after. What you're saying is, over time, the weaker fish will claim the higher spots as their own?
