do you use co2 for low-tech?

Post by Shadowg »

I've been running a low-tech tank for a while now, just some Anubias and Java Fern. Do you guys bother with CO2 in a setup like this, or is it overkill?

I don't use CO2 in my low-tech tank. The plants grow slow but steady. Just make sure your lighting isn't too intense, or you'll get algae.

CO2 can help even in low-tech, but it's not necessary. I've seen better growth with liquid carbon like Excel, but it's pricey. What's your substrate?

CO2 is overkill for those plants. They're slow growers anyway. Focus on stable water params and decent lighting.

Nah, skip the CO2. My low-tech tank's chill with just a sponge filter and some root tabs. Plants are vibin' without it.

I tried CO2 in my low-tech once. Messed with the balance too much. Stick to liquid ferts if you wanna boost growth.

CO2's a game-changer if you're tryna go high-tech, but for low-tech? Nah, fam. Just keep it simple.

I've never used CO2. My plants are fine. Just do regular water changes and keep the light on a timer.

CO2 isn't needed for Anubias or Java Fern. They're hardy and adapt well to low-tech conditions. What's your lighting schedule?

Thanks for the input, everyone. Sounds like I'll save my money and skip the CO2 for now.
