I'm planning a square custom tank, thinking of going for saltwater so I can maybe grow some corals, but I'm unsure about the type of fish that'd be suitable in terms of size. Would appreciate some help with that.
I'll post updates with pics as I build this micro tank, so stay tuned.

Re: small fish tank setup ideas for a 30 litre tank
For pico tanks like yours, I'd recommend dwarf gobies or a small goby/shrimp combo. Alternatively, have you thought about going inverts-only with species like sexy shrimp, bumble bee shrimp or small hermits?

I found some info on Rainford's Goby - http/www.tropicalfish4u.co.uk/Fish/flourw...s/RainfordsGoby - would something like this be suitable for a small salt pico tank?
Re: small fish tank setup ideas for a 30 litre tank
I've had one of these in my own tank, it was a 488lts setup though. As the link mentions, they need a minimum of 90lts with a good amount of live rock to thrive. Unfortunately, that's not feasible for a pico tank like yours.
You might want to consider some other pygmy species, like Trimma rubromaculatus or Tryssogobius colini. Stonogobiops yasha and Trimma cana are also worth looking into. Some of these species, like Stonogobiops nematodes or Elacatinus multifasciatus, might even allow you to keep breeding pairs if you can find them.

I was thinking of getting some live rock anyway, along with a few small coflakes, so what's considered a large amount for these fish?

janesany's setup is pretty cool, saw her small tank thread on fishforums - http/www.fishforums.net/index.php?showtopic=292179
