My male and female have become super protective of our castle, won't let any other fish swim by without chasing them off. Is this a breeding thing or something else entirely? I've never seen this behavior before, first time for everything I suppose, but it's got me curious.

my guess is they're probably guarding eggs inside, that's the most likely reason they're being super protective of the castle

She's been in there all day, and he's been patrolling the area, chasing off any fish that gets too close. The female's belly isn't even that pink, so I'm not sure if she's carrying eggs. If there are eggs in there, how long does it usually take for them to hatch, anyone know?

KRIBENSIS females don't necessarily need a pink belly or a noticeable lump, eggs can be laid without these visible signs. After laying, it takes around 2 days for the eggs to develop into wrigglers, then an additional 5 days for them to become free-swimming.
