What causes coral polyp bailout?
I've noticed my Acropora bailing out lately, and I'm not sure why. Parameters seem stable, 78F, 1.025 salinity, 8 dKH. Anyone else dealt with this?

Polyp bailout can happen if there's a sudden shift in lighting or flow. Did you change anything recently? Also, check for pests like nudis.

Could be chemical warfare too. Some corals release toxins when stressed. Running carbon might help if that's the case.

Or maybe your alk is swinging more than you think. Test it at the same time every day for a week. Those kits can be sketchy.

my zoas did this once, turned out the magnesium was low. fixed it with a water change and they chilled out.

Thanks for the tips, everyone. Tank's been up for a year, but I did tweak the flow last week. Gonna check PAR and run some extra tests.

Flow changes can definitely mess with them. If it's just the Acropora, might be worth isolating it to see if others react.
