Yep, Duckweed's a nightmare if you're not careful. I'd second Salvinia or even Red Root Floaters if you want something prettier. My fry tank's got a mix of floaters and Java Moss, and the survival rate's way up.

Thanks for the suggestions, everyone. Gonna try Java Moss and Salvinia first and see how it goes. Appreciate the help!
