How to prevent aiptasia outbreaks

Post by drifter »

I've got aiptasia popping up in my 75-gallon reef tank, and it's driving me nuts. Tried peppermint shrimp, but they're hit or miss. What's your go-to method for keeping these pests under control?

Aiptasia-X is my jam. Works like a charm if you apply it right. Gotta make sure you cover the whole thing, or it'll just come back. Also, keep your water params stable, 'cause stress makes 'em spread faster.

I've had success with Berghia nudibranchs. They're pricey, but they'll clean up a tank fast. Just make sure you don't have any predators that'll snack on 'em.

Yo, I just blast 'em with a laser. Sounds sketchy, but it's legit. Got a cheap pen laser off Amazon, and it zaps 'em dead. Just don't hit your corals.

That's wild, man. Never thought of that. Does it work on the big ones too?

I'm all about prevention. Quarantine new frags and rock before they go in the display. Aiptasia hitchhikes like crazy, so better safe than sorry.

Kalkwasser paste is my go-to. Mix it thick, slap it on, and boom, problem solved. Just be careful not to nuke your tank with too much at once.

Thanks for the tips, everyone. Gonna try Aiptasia-X first and see how it goes. Appreciate the help.
