can I keep two different wrasses

Post by FurryKing »

Thinking about adding a Melanurus Wrasse and a Six Line Wrasse to my 75 gallon tank. Heard mixed things about aggression. Anyone got experience with this combo?

I've kept both in a 90 gallon. The Six Line can be a bit of a bully, but if you introduce them at the same time and have plenty of rockwork, they usually chill out. Just watch for any sketchy behavior early on.

It depends on the tank size and setup. A 75 gallon might cut it, but you gotta make sure there's enough hiding spots. Also, feed them well to reduce aggression. What's your current stocking like?

I've had success with a Melanurus and a Carpenter's Flasher Wrasse in my 65 gallon. The key is adding the more aggressive one last. How's your water flow? Wrasses like moderate to high flow.
