I started with a 3.5g betta tank - huge mistake, in hindsight. I thought I'd done my research, but boy was I wrong.
Then came my 20g aquarium. I've got a bunch of photos showing all the changes it went through - probably more than I can even count, but here are the major ones.
As you can see, it evolved a lot over time. I had to downsize to a 10g due to a suspected leak in the 20g, but it turned out to be a false alarm.
Fast forward to getting my 40 gallon - finally! I trimmed the front Cryptocorynes to encourage aquatic leaf growth, which is why it looks a bit bare in this pic.
Time passed, and the plants started filling in. I added some house plants and things started getting really lush.
More plants started growing in, and it just kept getting better.
my aquarium journey: from start to evolution
Re: my aquarium journey: from start to evolution
Fish are in now, and I'm loving how everything has come together. The plants have really filled out, the fish are all settled, and I'm finally getting to enjoy the tank the way I wanted. There might be some small tweaks here and there, but for the most part, I'm feeling pretty good about where I'm at – except for the few more fish I'm planning to add soon.

Beautiful lilies you've got there. Are those from bulbs or did you start them from seed?

Those lilies are from bulbs, I actually grew them from just those.Giggletons wrote: ↑Fri Feb 10, 2023 5:42 pm Beautiful lilies you've got there. Are those from bulbs or did you start them from seed?

They were pretty damp, not completely wet, just a bit moist, you know.Giggletons wrote: ↑Fri Feb 10, 2023 5:42 pm Beautiful lilies you've got there. Are those from bulbs or did you start them from seed?

I'm curious, where did you source those bulbs from?rockyfox wrote: ↑Fri Feb 10, 2023 11:13 am I started with a 3.5g betta tank - huge mistake, in hindsight. I thought I'd done my research, but boy was I wrong.
