Do orinoco ram cichlids prefer cave environments?

Ram cichlids appreciate having plenty of hiding spots, it's a matter of security for them. They need to feel like they can dart out of sight at a moment's notice, even if they're not actually hiding from anything. It's an instinctual thing, and it takes a while for them to shake off the feeling that a predator could be lurking nearby - if they ever do at all.

I've had experience with Orinoco rams, and they definitely took to caves in my setup. To be honest, I found this to be the case with other ram species as well.
