Keeping garra and african cichlids with panda garra

I've got 4 panda garra in the 100 gallon tank I'm in charge of and I recently moved the tropicals to my 55 gallon. Considering adding angelfish, but the customer is pushing for african cichlids. Don't want to see my panda garra end up dead. Panda garra seem to be related to chinese algae eaters, which can coexist with africans, but I'm not sure if that applies to panda garra as well. Got a few days to make a decision - new fish are going into quarantine next week.

I did some research and it seems like African Cichlids might not be the best fit for my panda garra. If my customer is set on those, I'll probably end up rehoming the panda garra with their old tankmates in my 55.
