I've had my 75 gallon tank set up for years with five adult discus. Recently, I noticed my two year old blue snake skin acting strangely - darting around the tank like crazy. At first, I didn't think much of it, but now I've seen he's got visible scrapes from crashing into things.
Everyone else in the tank seems to be doing just fine. I'm at a loss here - has anyone else dealt with something like this before? Any ideas what could be causing this behavior and how I might be able to address it?

Re: Blue Snakeskin darting around tank
I've come across similar cases, though not personally experienced it myself. Whirling disease is often the term thrown around in these situations. The exact cause remains a mystery, sadly. It seems to be isolated to the individual fish, not affecting the others in the tank. The unfortunate part is there's no known cure - it's as if some sort of genetic quirk triggers these seizures, almost like a neurological issue. My sympathies are with you and your blue snake skin.
