Determining the ideal stocking for tanks with rams and apistogrammas
Considering the 55-gallon tank, I'm thinking 1-3 Electric Blue Acara's would do alright with the Tetra shoals. The Acara's seem pretty chill, so maybe a few Apisto's could work out too - they're generally pretty laid back. Since they'll all be juveniles to start, no one will be lunch for anyone else, at least not right off the bat.

Re: Determining the ideal stocking for tanks with rams and apistogrammas
I'm leaning towards adding Rams and Apistos to my Tetra tank, provided they play nice with each other. I've decided to move the Acara to a different tank instead. Given that Rams and Apistos are similar in size and supposedly peaceful, I'm hoping they'll get along. However, I'm aware they might be too similar and end up fighting like the Hatfields and McCoys.
I'm thinking of mixing a couple of Apisto colors, since they share the same name. I'm not looking to breed, but I assume the different colors might mingle. I'm considering Mikrogeophagus ramirezi and Apistogramma cf. agassizii.
