Deformed Juvies

Post by Duppy »

I'm 2-3 months into my first discus tank and I've made my fair share of mistakes. But after some major changes, I'm happy to see most of my discus are growing well. However, I do have two that are concerning me.

I have a blue turquoise discus (under 2") and a super red (just over 2"). The blue one often gets bloated and needs an epsom treatment - it's also darkening in color lately. On the plus side, it's very social and eats a lot. The super red, though, is a different story. It's always hiding, barely eats, and I just noticed its eyes are actually different sizes.

I'd love to hear your thoughts on how I can help these two little guys. Should I separate them, or try something else?

Hey Duppy, welcome to the forum. We'd love to see a photo of your little guys. Can you tell us their age? We need more details to help you out. Please fill out the disease questionnaire and paste it here, it'll give us an idea on how to proceed.

Welcome to the forum, Duppy. More info and pics will definitely help us understand the situation better. Where did you get your discus from and how many do you have in your tank? You mentioned you've had some past problems - what kind of issues did you face? It's not unusual for some discus to grow at different rates, but pics will give us a better idea of what's going on.
