is my beta fish not moving
is my beta fish not moving
My beta's been under the weather and I'm stumped - I've ruled out itch, but that's about it. Did a salt treatment for a couple of weeks, still unsure if it did the trick. He does swim away when I get something near him, so that's a plus. Saw him at the surface, eating the food I gave him, now he's back at the bottom. I catch glimpses of him at the top or bottom, but honestly, I'm at a loss for what to do next.
Re: is my beta fish not moving
Sorry to hear about your betta, raynigma. We're gonna need way more info to figure out what's going on with him. Can you please copy and paste the template below and fill in as much as you can? That'll give us a starting point.
Tank size:
tank age:
pH:
ammonia:
nitrite:

kH:
gH:
tank temp:
Fish Symptoms (like what you've already mentioned - he swims away when you move something near him, eats food but stays mostly at the bottom, etc. - add any other details you think might be helpful):

Tank inhabitants:
Recent additions to your tank (living or decoration):
Exposure to chemicals:

That'll really help us narrow down what might be going on with your betta.

Re: is my beta fish not moving
The brown color thing, it's basically gone now.
Re: is my beta fish not moving
Still kicking, my betta's hanging in there
Re: is my beta fish not moving
Good to hear he's still going strong. I'm honestly not too well-versed in diseases and such, so I'm gonna tag @coltin and see if he can lend a hand.
You've got a pretty spacious tank for just two fish - 20 gallons is a lot of room. Did you used to have more fish in there, or was it always just the betta and the cory? Have you had any losses lately? That might help us figure out what's going on.

Are you checking the water quality regularly?

No, I haven't been testing his water.belleora wrote: ↑Thu Apr 04, 2024 2:07 pm Sorry to hear about your betta, raynigma. We're gonna need way more info to figure out what's going on with him. Re: is my beta fish not moving
My cory seems fine so I'm really not sure what's going on with my betta.
Re: is my beta fish not moving
can you post the test results so maybe someone who knows more about this stuff can help me out
