Considering a pygmy rainbowfish (melanotaenia pygmaea) aquarium setup

Post by eleNt »

Had an idea - 92 x 36 x 42cm (139.1L) Aqua One Horizon tank, just for pygmy rainbowfish from the Kimberley area of Western Australia. Thought I'd do a concept aquascape - a few plants, not a full-on planted tank, and lots of outback red rocks. Wondering if my LFS in O'Connor has them in stock currently. If not, I'll wait for the next shipment. Here's the aquascape:

Water quality is crucial for a thriving tank. I'd love to see some water movement in your setup, and regular water changes are a must. How have you managed this with your neons, by the way?

Hi @graye, my neons are actually cardinals, and I did manage to do a water change last week. Next one's scheduled for Saturday.

As for the future tank, I'd love to hear your thoughts on it.
