first time buying a fish online from ebay

Post by TimeLord »

Just scored a huge paycheck and I'm splurging on a new betta - my first online fish purchase ever. I'll drop some links and then we can narrow it down with a poll to help me decide. @kingrise @AJE @dawnstar @fineman @juicebox @Deanasue @boomer

I'm leaning towards a plakat, but I'm definitely open to considering other types as well.

Let me know when you've narrowed down your options. I've got some experience buying on eBay, so I can give you the lowdown on most sellers. I've had good luck with MoMo's Bettas - they're really nice. BettaWorld is also great, I've heard good things. As for Aquapl 123, I'd steer clear of them if I were you.

@Deanasue, I've got some options to share. I'm thinking of going with one of these three -

LIVE BETTA FISH MALE SOLID COLOR HMPK TOP GRADE BREEDER - READY TO BREEDING on eBay, looks pretty good.

Then there's Live Betta Fish - Male - HMPK "Azure Tail Candy" (SSM43)(High-Grade) - I love the color on this one.

Lastly, Live Betta Fish - Male - HMPK "Heaven Paint Candy" (SSM51)(High-Grade) - another great option.

Avoid buying from overseas, especially Thailand or Indonesia. You'll need to use a trans-shipper, which adds extra costs. Plus, it takes around 2 months for the fish to arrive. I'd recommend buying within the US only. I recall a member who didn't heed this advice, and unfortunately, their fish didn't survive long after arrival.

I've got sevelflakes from both MoMo's and BettaWorld - they're great. I'm pretty sure MoMo's has a family connection to a betta farm in Taiwan, and they ship straight to him, but I'm not 100% on that.

Both have stores on eBay, actually I've dealt with them before, they're pretty good.
