creating a floating plant corral
creating a floating plant corral
I'm having some trouble with my floating red root, it keeps getting tossed around by my HOB filter. I've come across something that might help - a floating plant holder that keeps them in place. Has anyone used something like this? What did you guys use to keep your plants secure?

yeah, i've got just the thing. grab some bendable straws and flatten one end of each. then fold the flattened end in half and stick it into another straw. keep doing that until you get the shape you want - squares and triangles work pretty well, but the bigger ones can get kinda wobbly.Finleyx9 wrote: ↑Mon Jun 19, 2023 2:46 pm I'm having some trouble with my floating red root, it keeps getting tossed around by my HOB filter. @Finleyx9 I can send some pics if you're still having trouble visualizing it. I know what you mean, I thought there'd be a product for this too, but I guess DIY is the way to go. Just gotta find some clear or black straws that'll blend in.

Another option is to use airline tubing, just make a ring and stick the plants in. Or you can use some suction cups and corflake off a corner of the tank.

I don't think I'd ever use glow sticks, the liquids inside just seem too much of a risk to me.
