Finding the best cover plant seeds
Finding the best cover plant seeds
Decided to give growing covering plants a shot, seemed like a fun project. Did some research online, looked simple enough. Bought the seeds, set up the equipment. Long story short, seeds grew fine, did everything right, waited a week, sprayed them. Transferred them to my tank, looking good initially. 2 days later, disaster struck - plants started melting, floating up everywhere, what a mess. They just refused to root. Visited my buddy at the fish store, told him the story, he burst out laughing, saying I'd been had. Turns out the plant is water cress, apparently it's going around, so be warned.
Re: Finding the best cover plant seeds
Most aquarium plants aren't sold as seed, so be wary of Ambulia, Cryptocoryne, Echinodorus, Elodia, Hygrohila, Water Sprite or Vallis seeds - they're likely impostors.
