I have been keeping tropical fish for over 50 years. I have a pair of breeding jewels in a breeder40, (heavily planted, many hiding places) with a few kribs and swords. Last week I noticed a new batch of fry being protected by the jewel pair, and I assumed they were jewel fry. Now, I was able to identify the fry and they are Kribs. Easily recognizable by the two lateral lines. The jewels have been protecting the fry since birth.
I have never seen this situation before. I have breed kribs and jewels many times before.
Anyone else had this experience or can lend some insight?

No insight, but what a cool observation.
