Stendkers in Minnesota

Post by wilde »

A friend of mine just shared this video, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PKQq...ature=youtu.be, and I thought it was worth passing along.

That's absolutely incredible. I can only imagine the challenges of maintaining such a deep tank - how do you even go about cleaning it?

The video is definitely more impressive when viewed in full screen mode.

Thanks for the kind words, Dan. By the way, I'm taking full credit for those beautiful altums.

Stunning indeed. Successfully bred the altums or grew them out from juvies? Either way, those angels are truly majestic.

Re: Stendkers in Minnesota

I've had the opportunity to raise 18 juvenile altums. After countless water changes - 300 to be exact, I decided it was time to downsize my tank. Luckily, Andrew had a perfect solution, being just 45 minutes away. These Orinoco altums are truly unique, developing beautiful blue highlights as they mature. With some time to go, I'm hoping they'll reach 12-14 inches in height within the next year.

The tank setup is truly amazing and that scape is top-notch. Very impressive indeed. I'm loving the combination of altums and discus, they complement each other so well. That pleco did catch my eye though, pretty cool.

That Pseudacanthicus leopardus is going to get quite large, 10" is no small size, so it's great to see it in a spacious tank like this one.

Those altums are a real showstopper. I'm loving the tank's overall aesthetic, the lighting in particular. What's the filtration setup like in this tank?
