betta with body lumps
betta with body lumps
I'm reaching out for help with my little guy, Sushi. I've had him for almost a year now, and the past few months have been tough - he's been getting these lumps and bumps on his body out of nowhere. They're white and sometimes flesh-colored, and I'm at a loss. I try not to overmedicate him since he's so sensitive, so I just stick to keeping his tank clean, feeding him, and talking to him every day. He's still eating and swimming, but lately, he's been sticking to the bottom of the tank more often than I'd like. I've read that it could be lymphocytis, but I'm not sure what to do next. Any advice would be a huge help - I just want to make sure Sushi is okay.
Re: betta with body lumps
It's possible that it could be a tumor, I'm not sure though. I feel for you, my betta Candy is dealing with dropsy right now, so I can imagine how worried you must be about Sushi. I think it's best to wait for @coltin and other members to chime in, they might have more insight into what's going on with your little guy.
Re: betta with body lumps
I highly doubt it's lymphocystis. There are numerous possibilities here, and without more information, it's tough to pinpoint the exact cause. It could be anything, really - poor genetics or old age, for instance.
Re: betta with body lumps
I tried treating with Melafix, didn't see any real difference. I'm really hesitant to use meds, but I'm considering a fungal treatment now. I was kinda hoping for more insight, coming to a fish forum and all, but I guess it's good to know it's not lymphocystis. Thanks anyway, I just want what's best for Sushi.
