hi all, got a 160uk gallon mbuna tank, been using gravel, had breeding success so its not a major issue but a mate with a smaller mbuna tank reckons i need to switch to sand, says it makes them way happier, is there any truth in this?
been feeding mine flakes and pellets, what about you lot, what food do you use for best colour and all that, thanks
food and sand issues
Re: food and sand issues
I've heard Mbuna can be pretty active when it comes to their substrate, so maybe there's some truth to your friend's claim about them being happier in sand - they do seem to enjoy digging and moving it around. I'm not an expert, but it's worth considering, I suppose.
As for food, I've had great results with New Life Spectrum Cichlid Formula - my Mbuna absolutely love it, and it seems to be really good for them too.
