Not entirely sure I'm posting in the correct section, but I'll take a chance - Europe does seem to fit the 'old world' bill after all.

Are there any native European cichlid species?

I get really down when I think about no cichlids being native to Europe. hand but honestly, cichlids are just so cool, even if we don't have any here. I'm not exactly a wealth of knowledge on this stuff, so sorry I'm not more help.
