My multis are in a holding tank, no heat since it's summer, and things have been a bit rough with the filter on the fritz for a week or so. Doing some maintenance tonight, and I've got these adorable little multis, so tiny. They'll be sticking around the holding tank for a bit longer. Replacing the filter is on the to-do list once I'm mobile again.
Was stoked (and a bit surprised, I won't lie) to catch a glimpse of some fry.

Re: about shelly
Congrats are in order. Pics are a must, can't wait to see those little multis and the new additions, the fry.
Re: about shelly
Awwww huge congrats, I had a brief intro to shellies and I totally fell for them, now I'm on the lookout to get some more.
Re: about shelly
Not sure I'd be able to capture them on camera, they're pretty fast and always hovering around the shells. Here are some of the adults, btw.
Re: about shelly
Lost the whole bunch to an accident, gutted. Will be getting some more soon and redoing their tank, can't wait to get some more of those little multis.
Re: about shelly
That's terrible, so sorry to hear that.
Re: about shelly
Gutted, to be honest. Those little guys had me hooked, and the fry were just starting to appear. Managed to rescue a few cherries and my bn trio, but sadly all the shellies were lost.
Re: about shelly
Sorry to hear about the loss, that's tough. Consider getting a battery powered bubbler for emergencies, I've got two on hand now for power outages. Good luck with the new additions, hope it all works out. I've been thinking of getting Shellies myself, blacks are an interesting choice.
Re: about shelly
A battery powered bubbler wouldn't have made a difference, unfortunately. The issue wasn't power-related.
I'll be getting more multis soon, though.
