is my venustus colouring up yet

Post by robson »

My venustus has recently developed these small blue patches, which I knew they could have, but it slipped my mind until I saw him swimming over that weird flooring in my tank today. Will he colour up, and if so, how long will it take? He's not the most dominant, but he's definitely one of the most active and aggressive - I mean, this guy jumps out of the water. I've fallen in love with Malawi cichlids - their beauty and aggression are just part of their charm. I get frustrated when people say, "Don't keep them, they're too aggressive." With the right conditions, I think that can be managed. They're not as aggressive as humans can be, if you ask me.

Here's a picture of him - sorry it's not great, but as I said, he's just too energetic to keep still. He's a beauty, and I don't care if he colours up in three years or not. He's one of the many gems in my Malawi tank. Thanks, guys.
