maintaining a healthy aquarium

Post by dawnflyer »

I've got a mix of fish - Yellow labs, Yellow tail acei, Red zebra, Reef jalo and 5 of each plus a bn plec. For feeding, what's a good regime to follow and what food should I get. I've already picked up hikari mini pellets, the green packet ones. What will bring out their colour and nutrition the best.

I've tried a few different foods for my cichlids but I've found that New Era and New Life Spectrum are the best. They're both highly respected and recommended by lots of experienced keepers. They have a range of different types and sizes, so it's worth checking out what they offer to see what's best for your fish.

Edit: My feeding routine is pretty simple - I feed them twice a day, just small amounts. I do it at 7:30 in the morning and then again at 5:30 in the evening. I don't feed them on Fridays, I've read that it's good for them to have a day off each week. Then, on Saturday nights, I give them a little treat.
