about chainlink eels

So I'm still trying to figure out the max size of a fully grown chainlink eel - I've seen people say 12 inches, but then I've also seen claims of up to 36 inches. What's the real deal with these guys?

The maximum reported size for Echidna catenata is 165cm, or roughly 5 feet.

This might not necessarily be the fish you've got, though - do you happen to know the scientific name of the one you're referring to?
