can brain corals handle high flow?
I've got a new Brain Coral in my 75 gallon tank, and I'm worried about the flow. My powerheads are pretty strong, and I don't wanna mess it up. Anyone got experience with these guys in high flow?

Brain Corals can tolerate moderate flow, but high flow might stress them. In my 120 gallon, I keep mine in a spot with indirect flow. What's your current setup? Powerhead model and placement matter a lot.

I've had mine in a 90 gallon with two MP40s running at 50%. They're doing fine, but I'd avoid direct blasting. Maybe adjust the angle or lower the speed if yours looks unhappy.

Mine got pissed off when I cranked the flow. Started retracting and looked sketchy. Moved it to a calmer spot, and it's chill now. Gonna stick with low to medium flow from now on.

Yep, angle's key. I run mine at 40% with a gyre, and the Brain Coral's been happy for months. What's your lighting like, kale8o?

High flow can work if it's not constant. I've got a random flow pattern in my 100 gallon, and the Brain Coral's extended fully. Maybe try a wave maker with variable settings.

Thanks for the tips, everyone. I'll tweak the powerheads and keep an eye on it.

Mine took a week to adjust to higher flow. Started slow, then ramped it up. Now it's thriving. Patience is key, and yep, avoid direct hits.

Brain Corals are tough, but they ain't fans of getting blasted. My buddy's got one in a high flow tank, and it's barely hanging on. I'd play it safe and cut the flow a bit.

Mine's in a low flow corner of my 55 gallon. Tried moving it once, and it looked pissed. Never again. Stick to what works.
