information on mandarin dragonet

Post by fluxe »

I've had my diamond goby for three years now, and he's been doing great. He spends all day sifting through the sand, but he also loves munching on flake and frozen foods.

I'm curious to hear your thoughts on adding a mandarin goby to the tank. I know they can be picky eaters, and it's unlikely I'll find one that'll take flake or frozen food. But with a 170-gallon tank, I'm wondering if there's enough pods to go around for both of them.

The tank's been up and running for about six months now, and it's just the tank and sump with some live rock in the sump for now. I do plan on adding a 20-gallon refugium soon, though.

I think you should get the refugium up and running for a bit with some Chaeto before adding another fish. How long has your tank been set up for, btw?

You should be fine adding the mandarin but it'd be way safer once your refugium's up and running, gives you more stability in the tank.

yeah i figured it would be fine in a 170 gal, but i'm glad you guys think it's a good idea to wait till the fuge is up and running. i'm planning to add the fuge and get the lights dialed in before adding anything else. thanks for the input
