about the fuzzy dwarf lionfish

Post by Lynxor »

Hey guys,

Not a problem post for a change. Just got my Lil Fuzzy Dwarf Lionfish, Linus. He's about 4 inches and was already eating when I picked him up. Had him for 3 days now, and I've already got him on frozen food.

I'm curious to know, who else has kept these amazing lionfish? I'd love to hear about your experiences and get some tips. I've had him in his cave for a bit, but I'll get a nice pic when he comes out.

Thanks for your time, looking forward to hearing from you all.

Always been drawn to them, would love to have one in my tank someday. They're absolutely stunning, aren't they? Glad to hear Linus is settling in well and taking to the frozen food.

I'm actually interested in keeping a fuzzy dwarf lionfish in the future, but I'm after one of the rare varieties, like the yellow or green ones - those are the ones that cost an arm and a leg, aren't they?

heh,
my mate Andy's got one of those rare Green variants - cost him an arm and a leg, I'm told.

As for Linus, he's really coming out of his shell now. I've noticed he's associating me with food, which is great. Whenever I approach the tank, he darts out from wherever he's hiding and swims up to the front. It's fantastic to see him so interactive already. I had an Antenna Lionfish before, and to be honest, Linus is far more personable.

As promised, here are some pics of Linus - I'll try to get some better ones soon.

Looks awesome, we've got a little guy about the same size as yours, and he's a total foodie. He knows exactly when it's time to eat and won't leave me alone till I feed him. We've got a separate tank for the feeder shrimp right next to his, and it's hilarious watching him swim back and forth between me and the shrimp till he gets his food.

Aww, he's absolutely stunning. I had a Fuzzy Dwarf Lionfish in the past, but sadly, he stopped eating and passed away. We had him for a few months, and he was doing great, then suddenly, he just stopped eating altogether. We tried everything to get him going again, checked the tank, and it was perfect, but nothing seemed to work.

I wish you all the best with Linus, though - lionfish are definitely one of my favorites, and I'm sure you'll have a great time with him.

Thanks for the support guys, means a lot.
Glad to see there's still some love out there for the Fuzzy Dwarf Lionfish.
Linus has been doing fantastic this week.
I treated him to some feeder fish I'd been keeping in quarantine - they were freshwater, but I'd fed them marine food, so they'd had their 'marine fluff' haha.
Just a heads up for anyone who's a bit particular about feeding freshwater fish, this was just a one-off treat, not a regular thing.
I'll get some more pics of him up soon.
Keep sharing your experiences, really enjoying reading them.
