placement for Goniopora corals
So I just got a Goniopora and I'm kinda lost on where to put it. My tank's a 40-gallon with moderate flow, T5 lighting, and some softies in there. Any tips on the sweet spot for these guys?

Gonioporas do best in low to moderate flow and medium light. I've had success placing mine on the sandbed, slightly elevated on a rock. They don't like direct flow, so keep them away from powerheads.

Mine melted when I put it too high under my LEDs. Maybe start low and move it up slowly if needed.

Yep, that's the move. Mine's chillin' on a flat rock near the bottom, and it's been happy for months. Just don't let detritus build up around it.

Lighting's key here. If your T5s are strong, keep it lower. They can bleach fast if they're not acclimated right. Also, feed them occasionally—they're not just photosynthetic.

Thanks for the tips, everyone. Gonna try the sandbed spot first and see how it vibes.

Good call. Let us know how it goes. If the polyps extend fully within a few days, you've nailed the placement.

Yeah, target feeding helps. I use a mix of reef roids and amino acids. Just don't overdo it—water quality's gotta stay pristine.
