I'm upgrading my smaller Kribensis to a 40 Breeder soon, but for now, I have them in a small tank. Reason being, my bigger pair is in spawning mode and I didn't want the little ones getting hurt.
I've got three Kribs I'm unsure of the sex, and I've got some photos to share. I've checked out all the methods for sexing Kribs, but I'm still not 100% on the younger ones. I'd love to hear your thoughts.
I've posted some pics in my library - http/s1272.photobucket.com/user/Lady_Flames/library/ The adult male albino and adult female are the ones I'm sure of. The three immature ones are labeled 1, 2, and 3. Let me know what you think, thanks!
Determining the sex of kribensis cichlids
Re: Determining the sex of kribensis cichlids
I'm inclined to think it's a male, but I'm really looking forward to hearing what others have to say.

I'm still a bit unclear which one you're referring to, aquabass - sorry if my labeling wasn't clear. I've got three immature kribs, and I've tried to identify them in the photos as immature krib 1, 2, or 3.
In my opinion, the second one seems like a young male. I've had him for a bit longer, and he's developing characteristics that are more typical of males.
The first one I think might be a female, but I'm really not sure - I've only had him for a short time.
As for the small albino, it's just so tiny that I'm still unsure - I'm hoping for a female, but we'll just have to wait and see.
Do you have any other thoughts on this? I know it's likely we won't know for sure until they're a bit older, but I'm curious to know if my observations are way off or not.
