creating a separate orinoco llanos biotope for ram cichlids

Post by eleNt »

Once I've finished my Juwel Lido 200 Orinoco riverbed biotope with three native tetras, I'm thinking of setting up a separate species-only biotope for the Llanos region where the Orinoco River flows. I'm eyeing a Juwel Vision 180 or something similar for this project. The main attraction will be a pair of wild-type ram cichlids – no fancy varieties for me. The Llanos is essentially a tropical savanna in Venezuela and Colombia, home to many native species. I want to create an accurate biotope, so I'm looking for advice on how to bring the Llanos to life in my aquarium.
