keeping a brichardi

Post by Finleyx9 »

I've been eyeing those Brichardi at my LFS since they got them in last month - I must've spent 20 minutes just watching them each time I visit. I'm really tempted to set up a tank specifically for them, but my water parameters are a bit off, running at 6.8-7pH, whereas they seem to prefer 8-9. Does anyone here have experience keeping them? I'd love to see some pictures of your Brichardi if you have any to share - they're such stunning fish.

I've had the pleasure of keeping Brichardi in the past - truly captivating creatures. One fascinating aspect I observed was their unique family dynamics, where the fry from one batch would take care of the next, creating a harmonious, multi-generational community. If you're willing to invest the time and effort, you could end up with hundreds of Brichardi of varying sizes swimming together in perfect synchrony - it's a truly breathtaking sight.

If you're seriously considering keeping these incredible fish, I'd recommend exploring options to adjust your water parameters. Adding crushed coral or a similar substance could help increase your pH, kH, and gH, making it possible for you to create a suitable environment for these beautiful fish.
