Betta fish and feeding variety
I've been feeding my betta pellets for months, but I wanna mix it up. What other foods do y'all recommend? He's in a 5 gallon with a sponge filter, and I do weekly water changes. Just worried about overdoing it.

I feel you on that. My little guy loves frozen bloodworms. They're a great treat, and he goes crazy for them. I give 'em once or twice a week, and his colors have gotten brighter. Just make sure to thaw 'em first.

Yep, bloodworms are solid. I also mess with brine shrimp sometimes. They're packed with protein, and my fish chows down. Just don't overfeed, or you'll mess with your water params.

Variety's key for a balanced diet. Frozen or live daphnia are excellent for digestion, and they're low-fat. If you're using pellets, check the protein content—aim for at least 40%. Also, consider supplementing with a bit of spirulina for plant matter.

Thanks for the tips, everyone. Gonna grab some bloodworms and brine shrimp this weekend. Any brands y'all trust?

Hikari's legit. Omega One's another good one. Their stuff's clean, and my fish dig it. Just watch the portion size—tiny bites are better.

Agreed on Hikari and Omega One. If you're feeling adventurous, try culturing live microworms. They're easy to breed, and bettas love the movement. Just keep the culture clean to avoid contamination.

That sounds cool, but I'm kinda scared of messing it up. Any tips for a newbie?
